Finally got about a good inch of snow today. :)

Weather in San Jose when I'm on vacation

The flight leaves today and I’ll be back August 1st. Get ready to see a pretty full flickr account on my return, as I’m headed to Yosemite Park while I’m there. Oh, and yes, I probably won’t touch this site too much for the next two weeks. :)

Update: I’ll be home tommorrow afternoon, but I’ve uploaded the good pics from the trip onto my flickr account, so go check them out (all pictures are located in either the Beach or Yosemite albums).

    Very hot day

    Wasn’t fun to be outside.

Not sure why, maybe it was because I was outside. :P

    Sticking it to Comcast

May 21st, 2006 at 7:56PM EDT or 2 years, 6 months ago (the early evening)

This morning (right before working on a project, mind you) my internet adventitiously turned off on me. I called Comcast up and they told me four other people in my area were having a internet problem as well. The earliest they could send out a tech to examine my problem was Wednesday.

One and a half hours later my internet was back! I called them up to cancel the tech and joking asked them for my 8.4 cents back ($42 a month/31 days in May/24 hours a day=5.6 cents per hour). I told them I’d make them a deal; I’d round it down to 8 cents and wouldn’t even charge for the lost work reparations. Shockingly, they agreed to credit back 8 cents.

Those 8 cents add up- 8 cents today, 8 cents tomorrow, maybe 9 cents next week. Soon, I won’t even have a bill to pay. Good idea to call them if an outage occurs and get your money back. ;)

    Verizon FiOS is HERE!!!

May 8th, 2006 at 6:50PM EDT or 2 years, 6 months ago (the early evening)
Verizon FiOS is available in my area!

I’m so excited! :D After months of waiting, Verizon FiOS is finally available in my area. The Verizon guys have been here for the past few months installing and connecting cables, and it just today it has become available. I will probably be getting the 15mb/2mb plan (which completely owns my 6mb/768kb Comcast line at the moment). Insane BitTorrent speeds, here I come!

Also, on a side note, check out the spiffy new archive page I installed. Good for exploring content quickly (no refreshing of the page!). Still working on it a bit though.
