We just announced that SkypeOut is now free within the US and Canada to all landlines and mobiles, until at least the end of 2006.

Free SkypeOut calls

This is completely shocking news. :o

For those of you who don’t know what SkypeOut is, it is a feature part of the Skype client (which rocks, by the way) that allows you to make calls from your computer to LANDLINE phones. Skype alone is used for making free calls between you and other Skype users (just PC to PC). I’ve been using Skype and SkypeOut for a while and I love it. I can make calls from my computer (sound quality is great) and there’s an ability for conference calls (you can add limitless amounts of people to your “call-room” (both landline and other Skype users)). However, before SkypeOut became free today, there would be a cash balance on your account and calling a landline phone costed money on a per-minute basis. Now IT’S COMPLETELY FREE (for the United States and Canada only though- sorry other countries, you guys still have to pay).

Let the phone prank calling begin! :D

Yes, PC to PC does include macs since Macs are PCs still.
